Fox Chapel is a borough in Allegheny County located about 12 miles northeast of downtown Pittsburgh. Its close proximity to the business and cultural areas of the city make it a premier community in which to live.

Originally part of O’Hara and Indiana Townships, Fox Chapel was incorporated in 1928. It was initially settled int he 1750’s by the American Indians. It is probable back in December of 1753, that George Washington passed through Fox Chapel as he came south from Fort Le Boeuf. Today, the community strives to maintain and preserve its openness and spaciousness that was prevalent back then.
The Fox Chapel Area School District serves the communities of Aspinwall, Blawnox, Fox Chapel, Indiana Township, O’Hara Township and Sharpsburg. Each of its schools over the years has been named a National Blue Ribbon School. The district consists of four elementary, one middle and one high school.
Real estate in Fox Chapel can run predominately on the higher side compared to some of the surrounding communities that also feed into the same school district.
